A college in the UAE needs a Faculty member to teach Business Accounting. This full time role involves advancing the curriculum and ensuring industry relevance. You will teach in an applied, student centric learning environment. You must respect each student’s culture and traditions. In addition to teaching, you will help meet the division’s research goals. You will use research activities to inform your teaching. You will also develop students’ analytical and problem solving skills. If you hold a PhD or a master degree with a professional certification and five years of teaching and industry experience, this role suits you.

Key Responsibilities for Faculty

1. Teach accounting courses using a practical, applied approach. Align your teaching with course syllabi and program goals. Meet the needs and aspirations of students and the community.
2. Develop and use educational technology resources. Ensure effective and innovative instruction methods. Give students continuous feedback through tests, projects, and assignments.
3. Take a student centered approach. Offer individual assistance to students. Solve student issues quickly by talking with the student, program supervisor, and other college personnel.
4. Monitor student progress and support success. Evaluate students and update grades on time. Contribute to question banks and coursework assessments as requested.
5. Contribute to advancing the accounting curriculum. Ensure it meets accreditation and international standards. Use research activities to inform your teaching.
6. Serve as a student advisor when assigned. Provide recommendations on at risk action plans. Participate in academic and extracurricular events on campus and within the community.
7. Help develop and administer system wide and directorate specific policies. Finally, complete any other duties your supervisor assigns.

Qualifications

You need a PhD or a master degree with a professional certification relevant to accounting. Five years of teaching and industry experience is required. Appropriate academic and professional qualifications are also required. A minimum of five years of relevant industry experience is preferred. Experience in developing course curriculum according to accreditation and international standards is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. A commitment to student centered, applied learning is also important.
