The University of Khorfakkan needs a qualified Tourism Professor to join its faculty. This full time role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Tourism. You will focus on innovative and technology driven aspects of the industry. Your goal is to deliver excellent teaching and research. In addition, you will supervise graduate research projects, master theses, and doctoral dissertations. You will also develop and enhance tourism curricula. If you hold a PhD in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field, this role is for you. At least five years of effective teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels is required.

Key Responsibilities for PhD Holders in Tourism Khor Fakkan

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Tourism. Focus on innovative and technology driven aspects of the industry. Use digital pedagogical methods and integrate computer technology effectively.
• Engage in research activities. Produce high quality publications in internationally recognized journals. Prioritize journals indexed in Scopus. Supervise graduate research projects, master theses, and doctoral dissertations.
• Develop and enhance tourism curricula. Incorporate smart technologies and current industry trends. Participate in academic accreditation processes. Ensure alignment with the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation and international standards.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by the department, college, and university. Actively contribute to community service initiatives. These include industry engagement, organizing academic events, and providing consultancy services.
• Advise and mentor students. Guide them in their academic and professional development. Finally, establish partnerships with industry and community stakeholders. Enhance academic and research collaboration.

Qualifications

You need a PhD in Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field from a recognized university. At least five years of effective teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels in tourism or related areas is required. A strong research record with publications in internationally ranked, peer reviewed journals is essential. These journals should have a solid impact factor or be indexed in Scopus. You must have experience supervising graduation projects, master theses, and doctoral dissertations. A proven ability to establish partnerships with industry and community stakeholders is necessary. A track record of service to the university and the wider academic community is also required. Preference goes to candidates with experience in online or e learning environments and digital pedagogical methods. You must be able to integrate computer technology effectively into tourism education and research.
