Sunmarke School, part of Fortes Education in Dubai, is seeking an Assistant Headteacher for ELL/EAL to lead English Language Learner provision across the school. This senior leadership role requires an experienced educator who can develop strategies to support students whose first language is not English.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the ELL/EAL department and develop whole-school language support strategies
- Manage a team of EAL specialists and teaching assistants
- Oversee identification, assessment and placement of ELL students
- Develop intervention programmes and track ELL student progress
- Provide training and CPD for all staff on supporting EAL learners
- Contribute to senior leadership meetings and whole-school improvement planning
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Applied Linguistics or TESOL; Master’s preferred
- PGCE, QTS or equivalent with EAL/TESOL specialism
- Minimum 5 years of teaching with at least 2 in senior leadership
- Experience leading EAL provision in a multicultural school
- Strong data analysis and strategic planning skills
Salary and Benefits
