Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during the short term absence of teaching staff. Follow school policies and procedures to maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment. Deliver pre set work and manage student behaviour effectively.
• Support the Examinations Office during internal and public examination periods. Assist with the planning, setup, and delivery of iGCSE, GCSE, and A Level examinations.
• Ensure strict adherence to examination regulations, including timing, security of papers, and conduct of students. Help with the distribution and collection of examination materials.
• Maintain accurate records of cover sessions and examination incidents. Communicate clearly with teaching staff, the examinations officer, and senior leadership.
• Prepare examination rooms, seating arrangements, and signage. Invigilate examinations as required, ensuring all rules are followed.
• Finally, contribute to the wider academic function of the school by assisting with administrative tasks related to cover and exams when needed.

Qualifications

You need a high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor degree is an advantage. Previous experience in a school setting, particularly in cover supervision or examinations invigilation, is highly desirable. You must have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for working with students and staff. Familiarity with UK examination boards and their regulations is a plus. You should be calm under pressure, reliable, and committed to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
