Zayed University is hiring a Director, Campus Physical Development and Services Dubai Main Campus, Dubai, AE in Dubai Main Campus, Dubai, AE. This is a full-time position.

Zayed University needs an experienced leader to direct its Campus Physical Development and Campus Services departments. This full time senior role involves managing facilities, projects, travel services, business centers, switchboards, contract services such as food and retail, and the conference center. You will ensure effective and efficient operations across both Dubai and Abu Dhabi campuses. In addition, you will lead large scale construction and renovation projects. You will also develop sustainability strategies to achieve carbon neutral campuses. If you have a master degree in engineering or architecture and fifteen years of professional experience with five years in senior management, this role is for you. Bilingual English and Arabic skills are ideal.

Key Responsibilities for Director, Campus Physical Development and Services Dubai Main Campus, Dubai, AE

• Provide strategic and tactical leadership on large scale university projects. Lead the development and update of campus master plans and facility plans. Contribute to the university’s capital budget. Through the Facilities Project Manager, oversee construction, renovation, security, soft services, and MEP maintenance.
• Annually update the department’s strategic plan. Develop the operating plan and budget. Manage the CPDS budget and ensure proper utilization. Develop and implement sustainability strategies for carbon cost neutral campuses. Champion environmentally responsible design, green building standards, energy efficiency, and resource conservation.
• Develop policies and procedures for safe and efficient operations. Ensure design and construction meet university requirements, budgets, specifications, and schedules. Ensure facilities meet quality and safety regulations. Manage campus services including travel, business center, and convention center. Oversee retail outlets and food services.
• Lead the design and execution of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans. Conduct risk assessments and incident response protocols. Run regular simulation exercises. Maintain compliance with national and international safety standards.
• Develop a unified facilities system to track space changes, inventories, as built drawings, and budgets. Oversee contracts for building systems maintenance, custodial, grounds maintenance, and other services. Represent the university with external consultants, contractors, public agencies, and government bodies including municipalities and water authorities.
• Recruit, supervise, evaluate, and develop department staff. Review and optimize organizational structure across campuses. Finally, work with university and government officials on new campus facilities from design to occupancy.

Qualifications

You need a master degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field. Fifteen years of professional experience is required, with five years in senior management. University or equivalent experience is highly preferred. Project management understanding and experience is essential. Knowledge of health and safety is required. Experience in the Middle East and bilingual language skills in English and Arabic are ideal.
