LAMDA Peripatetic – Public Speaking Dubai, United Arab Emirates Part-time NEW

Dubai College is seeking a passionate and inspiring Teacher of LAMDA to join its thriving Drama Department. This peripatetic role involves teaching the LAMDA curriculum to currently 28 enrolled students, creating resources, and promoting the program to parents and students. You will also support the Drama Department by running workshops and preparing students for school performances. Working closely with the Director of Drama, you will schedule lessons and guide students through their LAMDA examinations. We can only consider candidates who already reside in the UAE on a valid residence visa and hold the appropriate work permit for freelance work.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach LAMDA lessons to individual students and small groups, covering communication, verse and prose, acting, and public speaking. Prepare students for LAMDA examinations at various grades.
• Create engaging resources and lesson plans tailored to each student’s level and goals. Publicise the LAMDA program to parents and students to increase participation and awareness.
• Work closely with the Director of Drama to build a weekly lesson schedule. Track student progress and provide regular feedback.
• Support the wider Drama Department by running workshops, assisting with school productions, and helping students prepare for other performances.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and examination entries. Communicate effectively with parents about their child’s achievements and areas for improvement.
• Finally, ensure all safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times, including undergoing necessary background checks.

Qualifications

You need a recognized LAMDA teaching qualification or equivalent experience in drama and performance education. Proven experience teaching LAMDA examination syllabi is essential. You should have strong organisational skills to manage scheduling and resource creation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to promote the program and work with students, parents, and colleagues. Candidates must reside in the UAE with a valid residence visa and hold the appropriate work permit for freelance or peripatetic work.
