Key Responsibilities

Prepare and manage the approved budget for both operational and capital expenditures in line with institutional policies. Monitor all spending and revenue, then submit regular financial reports to senior management covering payables, receivables, and overall expenses. Coordinate the approved budget with each department so they can calculate their financial, capital, and operational projections. Manage payroll for the entire organization, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Oversee debit accounts, credit accounts, and daily cash flow while maintaining the general ledger. Review and approve invoices for fees and revenue streams such as tuition, customer payments, and other charges. Organize supplier payments according to agreed terms to avoid late fees. Approve asset depreciation reports and conduct financial analysis to identify potential risks or performance gaps. Finally, communicate with external bodies including the Department of Finance and certified auditors as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications start with a mandatory master degree or higher in accounting or business administration from an accredited university. You need five or more years of combined accounting and finance experience. Preferred knowledge includes thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures, hands on experience creating financial statements, and familiarity with general ledger functions including month end and year end close processes. Excellent skills in accounting software both as a user and an administrator are also preferred.
