Zayed University needs a skilled Data Architect to join its Strategy Division. This full time role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining institutional data architecture. You will create database solutions that store and retrieve university information efficiently and securely. In addition, you will improve system performance by testing and troubleshooting issues. You will also transfer data from legacy systems to new solutions when needed. If you have a bachelor degree with four years of experience including two years in a supervisory position, this role is for you. A master degree with two years of experience including one year in a supervisory position is also acceptable. Microsoft Azure certifications are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop database solutions to store and retrieve university information efficiently and securely. Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting issues, and integrating new technical components.
• Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality, performance, and integration across platforms. Analyse structural requirements for new software and applications. Design scalable and efficient data solutions.
• Transfer data from legacy systems to new solutions when needed. Ensure data integrity and accessibility throughout the process. Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts. Visualise data structures to support system development.
• Optimise new and existing database systems. Enhance speed, reliability, and scalability. Define security and backup procedures. Safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
• Create and maintain end to end data platform architectures on Azure. Include data lakes, data warehouses, and data lake houses. Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for operational systems within the Azure environment.
• Develop and maintain pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and processing. Use services like Azure Data Factory. Work closely with concerned functions across the university. Identify future needs and ensure data architecture supports evolving requirements. Finally, perform ad hoc activities as requested by your direct supervisor.

Qualifications

You need a bachelor degree with a minimum of four years of experience, including at least two years in a supervisory position. Alternatively, a master degree with a minimum of two years of experience, including at least one year in a supervisory position, is acceptable. Certification in Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Data Engineer Associate is required. Certification in a relevant field is preferred. Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills are essential.
