University of Strathclyde Business School UAE is seeking a Senior Teaching Fellow in Engineering Design within the Department of Design, Manufacturing and Engineering Management. Additionally, this is an open-ended position with the opportunity to progress to Professor of Learning and Teaching.

About the Role

The Senior Teaching Fellow will deliver world-class teaching across undergraduate, postgraduate taught, continuing professional development, and graduate apprenticeship programmes. Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing students’ core professional engineering skills and their ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to real-world problems. Moreover, this role requires delivery of lectures, classes, workshops, tutorials, project supervision, and assessment both on-campus and online.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Teaching Fellow Engineering Design at University of Strathclyde Business School UAE Abu Dhabi

• Deliver high-quality teaching in engineering design across multiple programme levels
• Develop and deliver lectures, workshops, tutorials, and project supervision
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects and dissertations
• Contribute to curriculum development and programme accreditation activities
• Undertake scholarly and research activities aligned with teaching
• Promote the department’s reputation in teaching activities internally and externally
• Support assessment and feedback processes for engineering programmes
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Faculty of Engineering on interdisciplinary initiatives
• Engage with industry partners to ensure curricula remain industrially relevant
• Contribute to the department’s knowledge exchange and outreach activities

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent in Engineering Design or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrated expertise in product design engineering and related methodologies
• Experience in delivering higher education teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Specialisation in areas such as design process methodology, creative design technologies, CAD/CAM/AI, or design for manufacturing
• Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or equivalent teaching qualification is desirable
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse student cohorts
• Experience with online and blended learning delivery methods
