Academic Support Officer In Dubai Contract NEW

The University of Wollongong in Dubai needs a dedicated Academic Support Officer to join its Academic Success Centre. This full time role focuses on helping students navigate their academic journeys. You will provide Tier 2 guided academic support. This includes academic planning, degree progression, and referrals to campus resources. In addition, you will intervene with at risk cases. The centre operates on the CARE framework: Courtesy, Analytical, Responsive, and Empathy. Therefore, you will maintain high standards of student care. Key Responsibilities

• Support students in planning their academic journey. Use degree planners and aligned academic pathways. Provide clear guidance on academic procedures, policies, systems, and subject selection.
• Assist students in resolving academic challenges. Work closely with academic departments. Ensure high accuracy in advising and responsive communication
• Refer students to appropriate university resources. These include tutoring, wellbeing support, and career services. Identify and refer at risk cases for timely intervention.
• Monitor student progression. Support mentees in developing and tracking academic and personal goals. Maintain a student centered approach with courtesy, empathy, and professionalism.
• Support ASC projects related to onboarding, progression reviews, and assessment improvements. Develop, deliver, and report on ASC workshops that build academic skills. Provide administrative and coordination support to ASC leadership and committees.
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and case notes. Support key student lifecycle activities such as orientation, enrolment, examinations, and graduation. Finally, execute duties in alignment with ASC standard operating procedures and academic regulations.

Qualifications

You need a master degree in a relevant field. Strong communication skills and fluency in English are essential. Previous student support or customer service experience within a university environment is required. Proficiency in systems such as ServiceNow, Microsoft Office, Moodle, and other student support platforms is necessary. Experience in tracking and reporting on student cases and service requests is also required. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and empathy are essential. Key competencies include an innovative mindset, critical thinking, strong ethics, emotional intelligence, and appreciation for cultural diversity.
