Medical imaging nursing at a JCI-accredited private hospital is one of the most procedurally diverse Radiology nursing roles in the hospital environment. This position at American Hospital Dubai supports and assists across an unusually broad range of interventional and diagnostic procedures — from conscious sedation monitoring and Nuclear Medicine Cardiac Stress Tests through to lumbar punctures, paracentesis, percutaneous liver biopsies, PICC line management, thoracentesis, and transjugular liver biopsies. You work alongside radiologists and specialist consultants, providing clinical nursing support that keeps complex imaging-guided procedures safe, documented, and patient-centred. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in administering conscious and moderate sedation as ordered by consultants during radiology procedures. Monitor patients throughout sedation, document vitals accurately, and recognise changes in condition promptly.
• Aid in conducting and overseeing Nuclear Medicine Cardiac Stress Tests. Support patient preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care in line with unit protocols.
• Perform renal creatinine blood tests using point-of-care testing devices. Process and document results accurately within the patient record.
• Support gastrostomy tube changes and replacements. Assist with implanted port insertion, access, blood sampling, flushing, locking, and non-coring needle removal.
• Assist in PICC line management including blood sampling, dressing changes, flushing, locking, and drug administration via catheter.
• Support interventional procedures including lumbar punctures, paracentesis, percutaneous liver biopsies, percutaneous nephrostomy tube insertions, thoracentesis, and transjugular liver biopsies.
• Perform continuous critical care assessment of patients and families across physical and psychological dimensions. Recognise subtle cues early and initiate appropriate responses.
• Document all patient data completely and accurately in the medical record. Meet hospital and departmental documentation standards on every shift.
• Administer and document narcotic, controlled, and semi-controlled drugs safely. Follow all policy and procedure requirements without exception.
• Participate in unit-based CQI activities including incident reporting, medication error reporting, data collection, and quality improvement team involvement.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum three-year full-time program), or a two-year Nursing degree with registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
• Minimum two years of recent post-graduate experience in medical imaging nursing or an interventional radiology nursing environment.
• Valid licence or registration to practise in home country and/or country of last employment.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current at time of appointment.
• Demonstrated clinical competency across imaging-assisted and interventional procedures including sedation monitoring, vascular access management, and procedural nursing support.
• Strong patient assessment skills covering physical and psychological needs across a diverse imaging patient population.
• Knowledge of JCI requirements including International Patient Safety Goals and mandatory education compliance areas.
• Ability to coordinate and prioritise care effectively across multiple concurrent procedures in a fast-paced imaging department.
