Via Medica International Healthcare is hiring a qualified Registered Nurse for an Academic Health placement based in Madinat Zayed, Abu Dhabi, with a start date of April 2026. Furthermore, this is a full-time, experienced-level nursing role that combines clinical care with an exciting opportunity to work across events during school holiday periods.
About the Role
The Registered Nurse – Academic Health will deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care within an academic health setting in Madinat Zayed, Abu Dhabi. Moreover, this position requires close collaboration with physicians, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to support student health, staff wellness, and clinical quality initiatives. Furthermore, the role operates on a 48-hour weekly schedule with two days off, and offers the unique opportunity to work at concerts, sports events, and festivals during school holiday breaks.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred nursing care to students and staff
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient and student care plans
- Monitor patient and student conditions and report changes promptly to the medical team
- Administer medications, treatments, and clinical procedures as per DOH protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and health records
- Support infection control, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives
- Educate patients, students, and families on health conditions and management plans
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, educators, and the multidisciplinary care team
- Contribute to academic health and wellness programme development and delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification
- Valid Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DOH) Registered Nurse license
- Experience as a School Nurse or in Paediatric ward settings is preferred
- Active BLS, PALS, ACLS, and Infection Control certifications
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work 48 hours per week with 2 days off
- Willingness to work at events (concerts, sports, festivals) during school breaks
