About the Role
The Sonographers/Ultrasound Technologist role at Burjeel Holdings involves performing comprehensive diagnostic imaging examinations for patients across various medical departments. You will report to the Radiology or Medical Imaging Head and work in close collaboration with consultants, specialists, and clinical teams. Furthermore, this position plays a critical role in supporting accurate diagnoses by delivering high-quality ultrasound images and timely reports. Moreover, the role is based across Burjeel Holdings’ network of hospitals and medical centres in Abu Dhabi and the broader UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and musculoskeletal examinations
- Operate and calibrate ultrasound equipment in accordance with departmental protocols
- Document and communicate imaging findings accurately to referring physicians and radiologists
- Maintain detailed patient records and imaging data within the hospital information system
- Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards at all times
- Coordinate the scheduling and workflow of ultrasound examinations across multiple units
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Support the mentoring and supervision of junior technologists or imaging trainees
- Monitor equipment performance and report faults or maintenance needs promptly
- Stay current with developments in ultrasound technology and best clinical practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound or Medical Imaging (minimum three-year course duration)
- Valid DOH, DHA, MOH, or HCPC licence (or current eligibility to apply)
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on clinical experience in diagnostic ultrasound
- Female candidates are preferred for this role
- Proficiency with ultrasound equipment, PACS, and electronic medical record systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural, patient-focused environment
- High level of professionalism and commitment to clinical quality standards
