About the Role
The Assistant Nurse at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai will work under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses and clinical staff to provide basic nursing care and support to patients during their hospital stay. Furthermore, the role involves assisting with activities of daily living, supporting clinical procedures, and ensuring patient comfort and dignity at all times. Moreover, the Assistant Nurse plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised ward environment in line with AZHD infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Registered Nurses in providing basic nursing care to patients under supervision.
- Support patients with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Maintain a clean and safe ward environment by following infection prevention and control protocols.
- Transport patients and equipment safely within the hospital as directed by nursing staff.
- Assist in the preparation of clinical areas and equipment for procedures and treatments.
- Report any changes in patient condition or safety concerns to the supervising nurse immediately.
- Provide emotional support and compassionate communication to patients and their families.
- Ensure patient dignity and privacy is maintained during all care activities.
- Complete assigned documentation and support administrative duties as directed by the unit manager.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Nursing or Healthcare from a recognised institution.
- Previous experience as a nursing aide, healthcare assistant, or in a similar clinical support role.
- Valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) license or eligibility to obtain a DHA healthcare permit.
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of Registered Nurses in a busy hospital environment.
- Good communication skills in English; Arabic or other languages are advantageous.
