About the Role
The School Nurse will be responsible for delivering professional nursing care, first aid services, and health promotion activities within a school environment in Abu Dhabi. Moreover, this role requires strong clinical competency in managing student health issues ranging from minor ailments to emergency situations, while maintaining full compliance with Abu Dhabi DOH regulations. Furthermore, the successful candidate will work closely with school administration, parents, and healthcare teams to ensure a safe and healthy school community for all students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and emergency nursing care to students and school staff as required
- Monitor and manage student health records, medical histories, and chronic conditions
- Administer prescribed medications in line with DOH Abu Dhabi guidelines and policies
- Handle minor injuries and illnesses effectively, referring complex cases to hospitals promptly
- Conduct routine health screenings including vision, hearing, and BMI assessments
- Promote health awareness, hygiene practices, and wellness among the student community
- Ensure full compliance with Abu Dhabi DOH regulations and school health standards
- Maintain accurate documentation, clinical reports, and administrative records
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and school administration to support student health
Requirements
- Filipino nationality — mandatory requirement for this position
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification
- Valid DOH License or DOH Eligibility Letter (Abu Dhabi)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with preference for school or paediatric settings
- BLS Certification (mandatory)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and school communities
- Ability to handle children with care, patience, and cultural sensitivity
