Diagnostic imaging sits at the front line of clinical decision-making — and the radiographer or sonographer in this role carries direct responsibility for the quality of images that guide those decisions. This position at Mediclinic Middle East covers both radiographic and ultrasound procedures, requiring someone who can move between modalities, maintain strict patient safety standards, and deliver a calm, professional patient experience from preparation through to post-procedure care. Key Responsibilities for Radiographer | Sonographer Abu Dhabi

• Perform routine radiographic and ultrasound procedures accurately and efficiently. Follow established clinical guidelines and UAE regulatory requirements at every stage.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures. Explain processes clearly, address concerns professionally, and maintain a calm and supportive environment throughout.
• Produce diagnostic-quality images consistently. Apply correct positioning, exposure settings, and ultrasound technique to meet clinical and reporting standards.
• Maintain patient records completely and accurately in line with hospital policy and statutory requirements. Document procedures, findings, and patient information with precision.
• Apply patient safety principles across all imaging activities. Follow radiation protection protocols, infection control procedures, and safe patient handling practices without exception.
• Perform routine equipment calibration checks and coordinate maintenance requirements. Report faults promptly and ensure imaging equipment remains in optimal working condition.
• Collaborate with radiologists, referring clinicians, and the wider clinical team. Communicate imaging findings and procedural notes clearly and promptly.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities, audits, and continuing education programs as directed by imaging department leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound, Sonography, Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Medical Imaging from an accredited institution.
• Post-primary certificate or diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound is required for candidates applying with a radiography background.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience in diagnostic radiography, ultrasound, or medical imaging in a clinical setting.
• Valid UAE radiography or sonography licence, or eligibility to obtain registration through DHA, DOH, or MOH depending on emirate of practice.
• Comprehensive knowledge of patient safety standards and radiation protection principles applicable to diagnostic imaging environments.
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with PACS and hospital information systems.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and clinical colleagues.
• Strong client service awareness and the ability to deliver compassionate, reassuring care to patients across diverse backgrounds.
