Job Overview for an Area Finance Manager

An Area Finance Manager ensures that all financial related compliance matters are met. The job holder also ensures that all risks of penalty exposures are managed from a compliance perspective. Furthermore, the role will also require challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities for process improvements across the financial operations from AP, AR, Revenue Accounting and GL perspective.

Responsibilities of an Area Finance Manager

• Ensure all financial and tax compliance with financial regulations and company policies requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner.
• Continually identify and evaluate financial risks and opportunities in the region.
• Assist and review the compilation of annual budgets including periodic change of weather.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Continually identify and drive process improvements with all departments by adopting technology.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas to improve the financial health of the company.
• Provide Financial guidance and advice to Department heads in the region.

What You Will Do

• Monitor and share Financial activity against budget.
• Provide continual mentoring and guidance to the team to ensure alignment to the company’s goals and further development.
• Support the development of Financial and Operational KPI’s.
• Participate in project aimed at improving business processes and efficiencies.
• Participate in meetings and manage relationships with key internal and external Stakeholder at all levels.
• Become familiar with applications such as SAP, advanced excel, and Power BI to deliver results.
• Provide financial guidance and support to departmental Managers, to help them understand the impact of financial decisions.
• Ensure compliance with local airline and IATA industry standard.

Eligibility Criteria

• Finance related Bachelor’s Degree as a minimum.
• Chartered Accountant or Management accounting qualification would be useful.
• Minimum of 5+ Years of related experience in Finance and Tax within the Europe or Americas required.

Knowledge and Skills

• Experience working in SAP systems.
• A confident communicator across different Stakeholder levels from managers to senior executives.
• Interpersonal Skills.
