Key Responsibilities for Institutional Data Management Specialist Abu Dhabi, UAE

• Work with departments to align the strategic plan with divisional and departmental plans

• Collaborate on cross institutional action plans and evaluation strategies

• Ensure quality and data driven improvement for key metrics and rankings

• Help develop structured institutional datasets and data definitions

• Maintain documentation to enhance data consistency and comparability

• Support the Senior Institutional Research Analyst in data collection, analysis, and validation

• Use applied research methods for effective decision making

• Collect accurate and complete data for external parties and government agencies

• Submit data within required timeframes and formats

• Support document and records management systems for data, reports, and policies

• Ensure proper classification, version control, retention, and secure access

• Follow internal policies and external regulations

• Manage and maintain institutional data systems, databases, and platforms

• Develop dashboards and data summaries for policy, strategy, and resource planning

• Integrate data across systems to improve reporting and efficiency

• Automate recurring data collection, reporting, and KPI monitoring

• Conduct regular benchmarks of key datasets

• Perform statistical analyses to optimize performance metrics

• Prepare reports and presentations that summarize findings and trends

• Provide evidence based insights to internal and external stakeholders

• Collaborate with IT Services for effective data communication

• Stay current on software, reporting platforms, and data management tools

• Use databases and programming languages such as SQL, SAS, or others as needed

• Perform other related duties as directed by your line manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related subject

• Four years of experience in institutional research, data analysis, data management, or planning within higher education

• Strong statistical analysis and applied research methods

• Knowledge of institutional data management and governance

• Experience with document and records management systems

• Data validation and quality assurance skills

• Survey design and analysis experience

• Data dashboard reporting skills

• Workflow and reporting automation is preferable

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI or QlikView

• Experience with statistical software such as Stata, SPSS, or Minitab

• Experience with databases and data extraction, SQL is an advantage

• English fluency is required; Arabic is preferable
