Looking for Arts Administrator jobs in Derby? University of Derby is currently hiring an Arts Administrator at Derby Theatre. Additionally, this is a permanent, full-time position based on site at Derby Theatre, reporting to the Head of Development.

About the Role

The Arts Administrator at Derby Theatre provides general administrative support with a focus on assisting the Leadership Team and supporting the HR function. Furthermore, the role ensures Derby Theatre meets the needs of all its users efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. Moreover, you will manage HR administration, general office systems, and the Stage Door function in a smooth and efficient manner. This is a diverse role that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the arts sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support across all HR areas including recruitment, inductions, and performance reviews
• Coordinate DBS checks and maintain a rolling timetable for reviewing theatre policies and procedures
• Support the work experience programme through administration of applications and scheduling
• Manage administrative support for internal meetings including Board, Senior Management Team, and EDI meetings
• Coordinate the diary of the CEO/Artistic Director and Executive Director, arranging meetings and accommodation
• Monitor external reporting systems and collate statistics such as equalities and diversity data
• Welcome artists, creative teams, and visitors at Stage Door, acting as first point of contact
• Support and cover other members of the administration team during holidays
• Promote Derby Theatre’s Learning Theatre model and contribute to learning opportunities
• Undertake duty management and box office duties if required

Requirements

• Excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to set up, maintain, and improve systems
• Excellent written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and verbal communication abilities at all organisational levels
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Trustworthy and discrete in handling confidential and sensitive information
• Ability to work under pressure, managing time and priorities effectively
• Completed DBS check required upon appointment
