American University in the Emirates
Nothing is Impossible
The American University in the Emirates (AUE) invites applications from qualified Ph.D. holders for full-time faculty positions in Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) within the College of Business Administration (COBA) for Academic Year 2026–2027 in Dubai. AUE is recruiting at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor, welcoming experienced academics across all levels. Furthermore, this is an excellent opportunity for finance and risk management scholars to join a dynamic, AACSB-accredited business school and contribute to the growing field of insurance and risk education in the UAE and wider GCC region.
The successful faculty member will provide professional expertise in teaching and learning within the Insurance and Risk Management program. In addition to classroom instruction, the faculty member will assess student work, offer individualized academic advising, and participate in departmental and university-wide administrative and committee assignments as required. Moreover, all full-time faculty at AUE are expected to engage actively in professional and community service activities that align with the university’s broader mission of academic excellence and societal contribution throughout the academic year.
Candidates should be equipped to teach courses across core areas of Insurance and Risk Management, including risk assessment and analysis, insurance principles and practices, enterprise risk management, actuarial concepts, financial risk management, and regulatory frameworks governing the insurance industry. Since the UAE’s insurance sector is experiencing rapid growth and regulatory evolution, faculty who can connect classroom learning with current industry trends and real-world risk challenges will be particularly valued. Additionally, research productivity in these areas is strongly encouraged and supported by the college.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, or a closely related field from an accredited university in the United States or from a recognized institution accredited by an American accreditation body. The degree certificate must be issued and available at the time of the interview. Additionally, a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in a relevant discipline is required. A demonstrated record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals and prior teaching experience at the university level are also essential qualifications for all faculty ranks being recruited.
All full-time faculty at AUE are expected to maintain an active research agenda and contribute to the college’s scholarly output. Consequently, candidates should have a clear research focus within Insurance and Risk Management and be prepared to publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed academic journals. In addition, faculty are encouraged to pursue external research grants, collaborate with industry partners on applied research projects, and present their work at national and international academic conferences. These activities are integral to AUE’s mission of building a research-productive academic environment.
AUE is a prestigious institution of higher education in Dubai, accredited by SACSCOC and licensed by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). COBA holds AACSB International accreditation, placing it among the world’s elite business schools. Since its founding, AUE has cultivated a diverse academic community of students and faculty from over 100 nationalities, making it one of the most internationally inclusive universities in the region. Furthermore, the college’s Dubai location provides faculty and students with unique access to one of the world’s most vibrant financial, insurance, and risk management markets.
AUE offers a highly competitive salary package commensurate with academic rank and relevant experience. The estimated salary range for this full-time faculty position is AED 12,000 to AED 22,000 per month. Therefore, this is a compelling opportunity for qualified academics in Insurance and Risk Management seeking a stimulating and well-resourced academic environment in Dubai. Additional benefits include professional development support, research funding, and applicable university allowances for all eligible full-time employees.
Qualified candidates are invited to apply through the AUE official careers portal and submit a complete application package. Please include an updated curriculum vitae, copies of academic credentials, a research statement highlighting your IRM expertise, and a list of recent publications. AUE is an equal opportunity employer and actively encourages applications from diverse and international candidates. We look forward to welcoming a dedicated Insurance and Risk Management scholar to the COBA faculty for the upcoming Academic Year 2026–2027.
