A college in the UAE needs an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Engineering subjects. This part time role focuses on undergraduate students who learn English as a second language. You will create a student centric learning environment. You must respect each student’s culture and traditions. You will also teach at least two specific areas within the engineering program. In addition, you may cover capstone projects, work experience, and senior level specialized courses. If you have appropriate academic qualifications and five or more years of relevant industry or teaching experience, this role suits you. Experience with course curriculum development is a plus.

Key Responsibilities for Adjunct Faculty

1. Teach Engineering courses with clear, engaging methods. Use simple language to reach second language learners. Give students continuous feedback through tests, projects, and assignments.
2. Use educational technology to make lessons innovative. Offer individual help when students struggle. Solve student issues quickly by talking with the program coordinator.
3. Support students during capstone projects and work placements. Keep office hours for student advising. Track student progress and help them succeed.
4. Prepare your lessons ahead of time. Present material in a practical, hands on way. Help develop course curriculum under guidance. Follow accreditation and international standards.
5. Join academic and extracurricular events on campus and in the community. Finally, complete any other tasks your supervisor assigns.

Qualifications

You need the right academic and professional qualifications for the engineering discipline. Five or more years of relevant industry or teaching experience is preferred. Experience building courses that meet accreditation and international standards also helps. Good communication and people skills are essential. You must enjoy student centered, hands on teaching. Your work schedule runs Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM, based on class times. Teaching load is assigned on a per need basis and may not exceed six credits per semester.
