Accounts Payable Coordinator Dubai Contract NEW

The University of Wollongong in Dubai needs an experienced Accounts Payable Coordinator to manage its payables function. This full time role involves overseeing invoice processing, employee claims, and non payroll payments. You will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing in line with financial policies. In addition, you will supervise an Accounts Payable Officer and act as the primary escalation point for complex queries. The role operates in a high volume, compliance focused finance environment. Therefore, you need strong knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax. If you have a bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance and six to eight years of experience, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day to day accounts payable activities. Process invoices, employee claims, and non payroll payments. Ensure accuracy and timeliness. Follow UOWD financial policies and delegated authorities.
• Maintain up to date supplier records within the ERP system. Supervise and support the Accounts Payable Officer. Ensure consistent application of policies and professional standards.
• Act as the escalation point for complex supplier, employee, or stakeholder queries. Resolve issues quickly and effectively. Coordinate closely with Procurement, Treasury, and the wider Finance team.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and institutional financial policies. Prepare month end accounts payable reconciliations, accruals, and closing entries. Oversee audit documentation and support internal and external audits.
• Embed approved automation initiatives and process improvements. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Provide operational reporting and insights to support decision making by the Head of Finance.
• Finally, maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. These include the Head of Finance, Procurement, Treasury, employees, students, suppliers, auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications

You need a bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Six to eight years of experience in accounts payable or finance operations is required. This must include one to two years in a supervisory role. Strong experience using ERP systems is essential. Oracle experience is preferred. You also need knowledge of accounts payable automation tools. In depth knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and financial compliance is required. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills are essential. Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities are also necessary. You must be able to manage high transaction volumes and meet tight deadlines.
