Key Responsibilities

The following tasks will be performed by the Physical Education Teacher

• Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons that align with the American curriculum

• Assess student progress in motor skills, teamwork, and sports knowledge

• Use assessment data to adjust future sessions and activities

• Organise indoor and outdoor spaces, equipment, and displays for positive behaviour

• Work with fellow teachers to integrate physical activity into other subjects

• Communicate with parents about each child’s physical development and achievements

• Run at least one weekly extra curricular activity each term, such as a sports club

• Follow the school’s behaviour policy and act as a positive role model

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related subject is required. A PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification is also needed. One to two years of teaching experience must be shown by candidates. Previous experience with students who speak English as a second language is highly valued. A clean enhanced DBS or police check is mandatory. A solution focused attitude and respect for all community members should be demonstrated. A genuine passion for educating the whole child through sport is expected.
