The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking for an enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join its outstanding team starting in mid August 2026. This full time role is based in Abu Dhabi and is open to qualified teachers with strong experience of the UK national curriculum. If you love helping students create, build, and problem solve using tools and materials, this position offers a rewarding platform. You will teach DT across secondary year groups, following the English National Curriculum to IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme. The closing date for applications is 30th April 2026.

Key Responsibilities for Design & Technology Teacher Nord Anglia Education Abu Dhabi, AE

• Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons that follow the UK national curriculum, IGCSE, and IB Diploma Programme. Inspire students of all ages and abilities to develop practical skills and creative thinking.
• Teach a range of DT specialisms including resistant materials, product design, and potentially electronics or graphics. Use plentiful classroom resources to support hands on learning.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback. Prepare students for external examinations and coursework requirements.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, keeping them informed of student achievement and areas for improvement. Work closely with colleagues to share best practice and collaborate across subjects.
• Encourage and develop a culture of inspiration, enjoyment, and success in DT. Participate fully in extra curricular activities such as design clubs or maker spaces
• Continuously improve your own teaching practice through professional development. Finally, contribute to the wider life of the school community including events and assemblies.

Qualifications

You need a recognized teaching qualification and strong experience with the UK national curriculum. Further experience in international education is an added advantage. The school looks for an excellent communicator who works well with students, parents, and colleagues. You should have a positive mindset, a strong focus on being the best teacher you can be, and the flexibility to adapt quickly to a fast paced international environment. Keen collaboration skills and the ability to build strong working relationships are essential.
