Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School (PIHSS) is seeking a qualified Teacher of Urdu in Sharjah, UAE. PIHSS Sharjah was established in September 1974. Initially the classes began with around 150 students but now the strength has increased to over 2300. In 1990, the school was put under the administrative control of the Consulate General of Pakistan. The spacious premises of the school comprise of separate facilities for students from class 4 onwards. It provides academic excellence for the students, boosting their self-esteem and confidence.

Role of Teacher

This role person will provide and contribute to the teaching of Urdu under the direction of the Line Manager, in accordance with the national curriculum (FBISE), using appropriate syllabus, materials and schemes of work.

Responsibilities of Teacher

• Responsible to teach Urdu.
• Responsible to prepare lesson plans, lecture materials and actively involve in developing
  curriculum.
• Build and maintain co-operative relationships with both pupils and their parents/guardians.
• Ensure students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills and understanding appropriate to
  the subject taught.
• Check the students work efficiently and thoroughly.

Your Accountabilities

• Evaluation and assessment of pupils’ work and report on pupil achievement and attainment in line with school policy.
• Attend all requisite meetings and contribute to applicable Study Support and maintain and supply requisite information for individual pupils.
• Provide and contribute to supervisory duties, administrative routines and duties, pastoral and curricular matters in accordance with school policies.
• Organising classes and taking responsibility for the progress of lessons.
• Maintaining appropriate records, including assessment and recording of pupils’ development.
• Support colleagues and contribute towards the smooth running of the team and the school.

Education & Experience

• Minimum Bachelors Degree. (Masters is preferred).
• At least 2 years teaching experience.

• Problem solving and decision making skills.
