About the Role
As a Staff Nurse – NICU at American Hospital Dubai, you will provide highly specialised nursing care to critically ill neonates in a state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. You will work within an expert multidisciplinary team that includes neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants to deliver family-centred care. Moreover, you will continuously monitor and manage the complex physiological needs of premature and critically unwell newborns. This role demands precision, compassion, and advanced neonatal nursing competencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments on admission and throughout the care episode, identifying and prioritising clinical needs
- Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate individualised nursing care plans based on evidence-based practice guidelines
- Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and treatments accurately and in accordance with physician orders
- Monitor and document vital signs, clinical observations, and patient responses to treatment in the EHR system
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to coordinate holistic, patient-centred care
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and post-discharge care
- Maintain a safe clinical environment by adhering to infection control, hand hygiene, and patient safety protocols
- Respond promptly to patient deterioration, following BLS/ACLS protocols and escalating to the medical team as required
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited university or nursing school
- Current DHA/HAAD nursing licence or documented eligibility for UAE nursing licensure
- Minimum 2 years of post-registration clinical experience in a relevant nursing specialty
- Valid BLS certification; ACLS or PALS certification required or preferred depending on the clinical area
- Proficiency in electronic health record documentation; experience with Oracle Health or similar systems is an advantage
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast-paced hospital environment as part of a collaborative team

Salary & Benefits
The estimated salary range for the Staff Nurse – NICU position at American Hospital Dubai is between AED 8,000 and AED 18,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
