About the Role
The Staff Nurse – ICU TP at American Hospital Dubai is responsible for delivering comprehensive critical care nursing to patients in the Intensive Care Unit. You will conduct thorough assessments, manage complex monitoring equipment, and implement evidence-based care plans for haemodynamically unstable patients. Furthermore, you will collaborate within a high-performing critical care team to optimise outcomes for some of the hospital’s most acutely unwell patients. Advanced clinical skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential for this demanding and rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments on admission and throughout the care episode, identifying and prioritising clinical needs
- Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate individualised nursing care plans based on evidence-based practice guidelines
- Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and treatments accurately and in accordance with physician orders
- Monitor and document vital signs, clinical observations, and patient responses to treatment in the EHR system
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to coordinate holistic, patient-centred care
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and post-discharge care
- Maintain a safe clinical environment by adhering to infection control, hand hygiene, and patient safety protocols
- Respond promptly to patient deterioration, following BLS/ACLS protocols and escalating to the medical team as required
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited university or nursing school
- Current DHA/HAAD nursing licence or documented eligibility for UAE nursing licensure
- Minimum 2 years of post-registration clinical experience in a relevant nursing specialty
- Valid BLS certification; ACLS or PALS certification required or preferred depending on the clinical area
- Proficiency in electronic health record documentation; experience with Oracle Health or similar systems is an advantage
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast-paced hospital environment as part of a collaborative team

Salary & Benefits
