Role of Staff Nurse Endoscopy

To provide general and specialized direct and indirect patient care to patients of all ages undergoing endoscopy. This incumbent will demonstrate competency in the behavioral, growth, development and psychosocial needs of patients being treated.

Responsibilities of Staff Nurse Endoscopy

• Develop and implement plan of care.
• Supervise Practical Nurses and collaborate with other health care professionals.
• Complete timely patient admission and ongoing assessments, plans and updates plan of care based on individual patient needs.
• Provide direct care and evaluate outcomes, incorporating principles of family centered care.
• Monitor and document patients’ condition and effectiveness of care and interventions.
• Carry out prescribed treatments in accordance with approved policies, protocols and educational material procedures.
• Lead the caregiver team in the delivery of patient care collaborating with other disciplines to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
• Apply relationship-building values and the principles of team dynamics to perform effectively in different team roles to plan and deliver patient/ population-centered care that is safe, timely, efficient, effective, and equitable.
• Maintain confidentiality with patients and families and adhere to Mubadala Code of Conduct.
• Demonstrate active participation in resource stewardship.
• Work with individuals of other professions to maintain a climate of mutual respect and shared values.
• Accountable for establishing, maintaining and evaluating one’s own lifelong learning needs.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate experience in an general surgery/operating room setting.

*Note: experience requirement is waived for graduates of UAE Nursing colleges or universities after completion of an approved internship.

Certification & Licensure

• Valid and current national license.
• BLS  from AHA or an equivalent organization, or must obtain within 3 months of employment.
• ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty from AHA or an equivalent organization or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Professional Membership.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
