Staff Nurse – Breast OPD Clinic Dubai, United Arab Emirates Full-time

Breast OPD care nursing sits at a uniquely sensitive intersection of diagnostic precision and patient-centred support. This position at American Hospital Dubai covers a focused but technically demanding procedural scope, including assistance during ultrasound-guided core biopsies, lymph node biopsies, stereotactic biopsies, fine needle aspirations, seed placement, and wire localisation procedures. You work within a specialist breast care unit where your clinical contributions directly support diagnostic accuracy and early intervention outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Assist during ultrasound-guided core biopsy and lymph node biopsy procedures. Prepare patients, support the procedural team, and monitor patient condition throughout.
• Provide nursing support during stereotactic biopsy procedures. Follow unit protocols for patient positioning, equipment preparation, and post-procedure care.
• Assist in breast fine needle aspiration procedures. Ensure correct specimen handling, labelling, and documentation at every stage.
• Perform seed placement procedures and support wire localisation procedures in line with American Hospital Dubai’s established clinical standards.
• Deliver direct patient care for adult and geriatric patients across the breast care continuum. Apply the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — to every patient encounter.
• Perform continuous critical assessment of patients’ physical and psychological needs. Recognise anxiety, procedural distress, and subtle clinical cues early and respond appropriately.
• Document all relevant patient data completely and accurately in the medical record. Meet hospital and departmental documentation standards on every shift.
• Administer and document narcotic, controlled, and semi-controlled drugs safely. Follow all policy and procedure requirements without exception.
• Maintain unit supplies and equipment readiness for all breast care procedures. Report shortages and equipment issues promptly.
• Participate in unit-based CQI activities including incident reporting, medication error reporting, data collection, and quality improvement team involvement.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum three-year full-time program), or a two-year Nursing degree with registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
• Minimum two years of recent post-graduate experience in a breast care, surgical nursing, or related interventional clinical setting.
• Valid licence or registration to practise in home country and/or country of last employment.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current at time of appointment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is essential.
• Demonstrated competency in procedural nursing support within a diagnostic or interventional clinical environment.
• Strong patient assessment skills covering physical and psychological needs, with sensitivity to the emotional dimensions of breast care diagnosis.
• Knowledge of JCI requirements including International Patient Safety Goals and mandatory education compliance areas.
• Ability to coordinate and prioritise care effectively across multiple patients and concurrent procedures within a specialist breast care unit.
