About the Role

The School Nurse will be responsible for delivering professional nursing care, health assessments, and wellness support to students and staff within a school environment in Al Ain. Moreover, this role requires managing routine and emergency health situations independently, maintaining accurate medical records, and collaborating with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to promote student wellbeing. Furthermore, the role operates on a 48-hour weekly schedule with two days off and includes the exciting opportunity to work at events such as concerts, sports competitions, and festivals during school holiday breaks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid, emergency care, and routine health assessments to students and school staff
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments in accordance with DOH protocols
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, health histories, and immunisation documentation
• Conduct routine health screenings including vision, hearing, and growth assessments
• Deliver health education and wellness promotion programmes to students and school community
• Monitor and manage chronic conditions, referring serious cases to appropriate facilities
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, school administration, and healthcare teams
• Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi DOH regulations and school health standards at all times

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification
• Valid Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DOH) Registered Nurse license
• Experience as a School Nurse or in a Paediatric ward setting is preferred
• Active BLS, PALS, ACLS, and Infection Control certifications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and educators
• Ability to work 48 hours per week with 2 days off
• Immediate availability to join is required
