About the Role
The Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology position at Burjeel Holdings is a senior clinical leadership role focused on delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care to a diverse patient population across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. You will manage complex cases including high-risk pregnancies and advanced laparoscopic procedures, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of specialists and support staff. Furthermore, this role carries significant responsibility for clinical governance, patient safety, and the mentoring of junior medical staff within the women’s health department. Moreover, Burjeel Holdings requires board-certified female physicians with demonstrated experience in laparoscopy and high-risk pregnancy management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of obstetric and gynaecological conditions
- Manage high-risk pregnancies including pre-eclampsia, multiple gestations, and maternal complications
- Perform advanced laparoscopic and open gynaecological surgical procedures
- Lead ward rounds, clinic sessions, and multidisciplinary team discussions within the department
- Mentor and supervise registrars, residents, and junior clinical staff in women’s health
- Develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols for obstetric and gynaecological care
- Collaborate with neonatology, anaesthesia, and other specialist teams for complex case management
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records and clinical documentation
- Participate in departmental audits, research, and continuing medical education activities
- Ensure all clinical activities comply with DOH, DHA, or MOH licensing and accreditation standards
Requirements
- Medical degree with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology from a recognised institution
- Valid DOH, DHA, or MOH licence (or eligibility to obtain) in the UAE
- Demonstrated experience in laparoscopic surgery and high-risk pregnancy case management
- Female physician candidates are specifically required for this position
- Minimum 5 years of post-certification clinical experience as a Consultant or equivalent
- Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
- Commitment to clinical excellence, research, and patient safety
