Reem Hospital is presently accepting applications from eligible candidates for the job role of a Registered Nurse – Pediatric Ward in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The selected candidate will contribute to investigations of complaints and incidents and draft responses as required in a timely manner. Role of Pediatric Ward Nurse

Responsible for rendering professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital, ensuring that nursing care is an integral part of the total patient care plan, working in conjunction with the medical staff and according to policies and procedures of the hospital. This will be in keeping with the accepted principles of professional nursing practice.

Accountabilities of Pediatric Ward Nurse

  • Manage clinical and operational activities at ward level and ensure the provision of optimum clinical care, customer satisfaction and patient safety.
  • Demonstrate ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations.
  • Maintain an effective rapport with patients, visitors, physicians, and other member of the hospital team.
  • Promote confidentiality and use complete discretion when discussing information.
  • Undertake comprehensive and holistic assessment of the patients nursing care needs.
  • Develop a plan of care, which is evidence based and planned in partnership with the patient wherever possible.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams on effective patient management ensure appropriate and timely interventions for patients and for discharge planning.
  • Document patient assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention.
  • Provide a comprehensive clinical handover / report as required to ensure patient safety using SBAR principles.
  • Establish priorities of care, nursing actions and desired outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Perform required clinical procedures competently and ensure competencies are current as outlined in the Clinical Competency Framework.
  • Attend meetings pertinent to department.
  • Act as shift coordinator as required.
  • Actively participate in the Clinical Competency Programme.
  • Actively participate in the process for ensuring the organisation achieves and maintains JCIA status.
  • Engage in health promotion activities in the organization and community.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
  • International accreditation experience is an advantage.

Licensure & Certification

  • Maintains valid, current RN licensure from own country.
  • BLS certified.
  • Certified proof of yearly CME.
  • Specialist Certifications Specialist Nursing certifications such as Critical Care Nursing or Paediatric Nursing is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of current computer system used in the organisation.
  • The ability to influence and implement change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Organized and able to work methodically.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Able to relate to people from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Fluent in both Arabic & English is preferred.
