About the Role
The Patient Aide in the Long-Term Care unit will provide essential support to patients requiring extended medical care at Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital. Furthermore, this role involves assisting nursing staff with daily patient care activities, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Moreover, the Patient Aide will work under the supervision of registered nurses and contribute to the overall well-being of long-term care residents. The position is based at the Zayed Sports City facility in Abu Dhabi.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse
- Support patient mobility through safe transfers and ambulation assistance
- Maintain accurate records of patient intake, output, and vital signs as directed
- Coordinate with the nursing team to ensure timely delivery of patient care services
- Promote patient dignity and comfort throughout all care interactions
- Manage the cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and common areas
- Lead preparation of patient rooms for new admissions and discharges
- Contribute to infection prevention by following proper hygiene and sanitation protocols
- Participate in training sessions and departmental meetings to enhance care standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in patient care assistance preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a patient aide, nursing assistant, or similar role
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English
- Physical ability to lift, move, and reposition patients safely
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare
