About the Role
The Project Director for the School of Medicine at American University in Dubai will lead the planning, development, and implementation of the university’s new medical school initiative. Furthermore, this role involves coordinating with academic leaders, regulatory bodies, and healthcare partners to ensure the successful establishment of a world-class medical education program. Moreover, the Project Director will report directly to senior university leadership and will be responsible for managing timelines, budgets, and accreditation processes.
Key Responsibilities for Project Director School of Medicine at American University in Dubai Dubai
- Lead the strategic planning and development of the School of Medicine from inception to launch
- Coordinate with the UAE Ministry of Education and relevant regulatory bodies for licensing and accreditation
- Manage project budgets, timelines, milestones, and deliverables for the medical school initiative
- Develop partnerships with hospitals, clinical training sites, and healthcare organizations
- Support faculty recruitment efforts and curriculum development for medical programs
- Monitor compliance with international medical education standards and best practices
- Prepare detailed progress reports for university leadership and board of trustees
- Contribute to fundraising and resource mobilization efforts for the medical school
- Promote the School of Medicine vision through stakeholder engagement and community outreach
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Medical Education, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in medical education administration or healthcare project management
- Proven track record of leading large-scale academic or healthcare development projects
- Strong knowledge of medical school accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
- Excellent English communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in the GCC or Middle East region is preferred
- Strong strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational abilities
