American University in the Emirates
Nothing is Impossible
The American University in the Emirates (AUE) invites applications from qualified Ph.D. holders for part-time faculty positions in Finance, with a specific focus on Cryptocurrencies and digital assets, for the Academic Year 2026–2027 in Dubai. This is a forward-thinking opportunity for finance academics and industry experts who wish to contribute to one of the most rapidly evolving areas of modern finance education. Furthermore, AUE is recruiting at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor, welcoming candidates at various stages of their academic and professional journeys.
The part-time faculty member will provide professional expertise in teaching and learning within the Finance department, with a focus on cryptocurrency markets, blockchain finance, digital assets, and related emerging financial technologies. In addition to delivering quality instruction, the faculty member will assess student work, offer academic advising, and participate in administrative and committee assignments as required. Moreover, engagement in professional and community service activities that align with AUE’s broader institutional mission is expected of all faculty members throughout the academic year.
Candidates should be able to teach courses related to cryptocurrency fundamentals, digital asset valuation, blockchain technology in finance, decentralized finance (DeFi), crypto market analysis, and regulatory frameworks governing digital currencies. Since the UAE has emerged as a global hub for cryptocurrency regulation and innovation, this position places AUE’s finance curriculum at the cutting edge of industry developments. Additionally, faculty with experience in both traditional financial markets and emerging digital finance ecosystems will be particularly well-positioned to enrich student learning in this specialized field.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field from an accredited university in the United States or from a recognized institution accredited by an American accreditation body. The degree certificate must be issued and available at the time of the interview. Additionally, a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Finance or a directly related discipline is required. A demonstrable research interest or publication record in cryptocurrency, blockchain finance, or digital asset management is a significant advantage and will be given strong consideration during the evaluation process.
Part-time faculty at AUE are expected to maintain high standards of instructional quality consistent with the university’s academic mission. Consequently, all candidates must demonstrate strong teaching skills, the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly, and a commitment to student success. In addition, faculty are encouraged to contribute to the department’s research culture by pursuing publication opportunities, presenting at academic conferences, and collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary research projects related to finance and emerging technologies.
AUE is a prestigious institution of higher education in Dubai, accredited by SACSCOC and licensed by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). The College of Business Administration at AUE holds AACSB International accreditation, reflecting its commitment to world-class finance education. Since its founding, AUE has attracted students and faculty from over 100 countries, building a truly global and multicultural academic community. Furthermore, the university’s location in Dubai positions it at the centre of one of the world’s most dynamic financial and technology ecosystems.
AUE offers competitive remuneration for part-time faculty positions, commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and relevant experience. The estimated salary range for this position is AED 12,000 to AED 22,000 per month. Therefore, this role is an attractive option for finance academics and cryptocurrency specialists who wish to maintain flexible academic engagement while contributing their expertise to a leading UAE university. Additionally, part-time faculty may access professional development resources and benefit from AUE’s vibrant and supportive academic community.
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply through the AUE official careers portal and submit a complete application package. Please include an updated curriculum vitae, copies of academic credentials, a brief statement of teaching interests in cryptocurrency and finance, and a list of relevant publications or professional accomplishments.
