Responsibilities of Operating Room Technician

• Assists doctors, surgeons and nurses with surgical tasks in operating room or surgical unit of a hospital.
• Provides patient care, operates basic hand tools, and monitors patient vital signs throughout the surgery.
• Collects and prepares the necessary instruments and supplies for each procedure.
• Ensures that all equipment is in proper working condition.
• Maintains a sterile field throughout the surgery.
• Transfers patients out of the operating room post surgery and delivers any specimens to labs.
• Passes supplies and instruments to the surgeon on requirement.
• Restocks supplies
• Keeps an accurate records of patient information and supplies used during the procedure.

Eligibility Criteria

Following are the desired qualifications and experience for the role of Operating Room Technician at IHD:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years operating room experience. 
• Experience handling surgical equipment.
• CPR certification and current BLS certification.
