At American Hospital Dubai, a Medical Transcriptionist – Cardiology assists with the responsibility for ensuring the effective, efficient and smooth running of the Cardiac Cath Lab providing unit clerical and interpreter support. The role holder provides secretarial support to the Cardiac Centre physicians within the time constraints of the primary function.

Responsibilities of  Transcriptionist

• The role holder is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate transcription of pathology reports.
• Assist with specimen reception procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab of the Department and all associated clerical tasks.
• The position also involves secretarial duties for the Department

Qualifications & Experience

Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Medical Transcriptionist – Cardiology at American Hospital Dubai:

• High School Diploma.
• Graduate of Business Secretarial College or equivalent experience.
• Three years’ experience in similar position.
• Experience in a Cardiology preferred.

Knowledge & Job Skills

• Minimum of 50 wpm typing speed.
• Shorthand an advantage.
• Knowledge of computer applications (especially dictation systems) is a prerequisite.
• Computer literate/familiar with word processing packages, e.g. Word, Excel and Power Point, Internet and e-mail systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology an advantage.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Exposure to Customer Service Training.
