Responsibilities of Oncology Pharmacy Manager

• Supervises and schedules Caregivers in assigned areas.
• Assists Caregivers in solving operational and professional challenges.
• Participates in the interviews, selects, hires, trains, and evaluates pharmacists and technicians.
• Ensures departmental compliance with MOH and HAAD rules and regulations and with JCI standards.
• Liaises with medical and nursing Caregivers to coordinate pharmacy activities and to assist in the resolution of interdepartmental problems.
• Solicits opinions, new ideas and recommendations from the pharmacists and support personnel.
• Reviews policies and procedures, and makes revisions and recommendations as required.
• Ensures proper inventory of supplies is maintained and responsible for annual budget preparation.
• Ensures compliance with insurance companies’ regulations.
• Measures and re-calibrates performance metrics set to achieve organizational targets, as indicated Generates financial reports, including yearly budget of pharmaceuticals and supplies for oncology pharmacy services.
• Contributes to the advancement of the professional through presentations and local, national, and international meetings.
• Assists in developing yearly goals for oncology pharmacy services in line with organizational priorities.
• Engages Caregivers to deliver optimum care to all internal and external customers.
• Supports team members as a coach and a mentor.
• Supervises the activities of pharmacy support personnel.
• Maintains control and security of all drugs.
• Ensures appropriate documentation of all activities.
• Supports the formulary and restricted drug programs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

The eligibility criteria for the role of Pharmacy Manager Oncology Pharmacy is as under:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy with Masters from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Health Administration (MHA) is preferable.
• Oncology BCPS is preferable.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a pharmacist post Doctor of Pharmacy, OR minimum of 9 years of experience as a pharmacist post Master of Pharmacy, or 10 years of experience as a pharmacist post Bachelor of Pharmacy degree is required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to speak and write in English.
• Evidence of research or publication.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proficient in use of Electronic Health Record.
• Proficient in use of integrated inventory system.
• Knows the use of automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and automated storage device (CII Safe).
