The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government needs an IT technician to keep computers, audiovisual gear, and networks working well. Key Responsibilities

• Set up computer equipment and schedule regular maintenance. Train users so they make safe and proper use of the IT infrastructure.
• Handle end user hardware and software installation. Configure, troubleshoot, and repair audiovisual systems, computers, printers, telecommunication gear, and network equipment.
• Keep IT asset inventory and status reports up to date. Also handle decommission activities.
• Set up and operate audiovisual equipment for events. This includes microphones, projectors, sound gear, presentations, meetings, conventions, and media coverage.
• Set up, operate, and maintain printers and multifunction printers. Manage the Ysoft Safe Q print solution system. Also handle badge printing for events and staff.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely, or by phone. Assist personnel with installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of system hardware and software.
• Offer daily operations and systems support to all employees. Answer computer related questions and keep records of repairs, fixes, and maintenance schedules.
• Follow up with vendors for repairs, new orders, and printer cartridges. Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without stopping others from completing their work. Finally, conduct surveys to make sure hardware and software stay up to date.

Qualifications

You need a diploma or bachelor degree in information technology from an accredited university. Preferred certifications include CompTIA A+ and Microsoft Certified IT Professional. You also need two or more years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance. The employer looks for candidates who can explain technical ideas to non technical users, work on their own, and keep accurate records.
