Additionally, this is a permanent, part-time hybrid role of 24 hours per week based at the Kedleston Road campus.

About the Role

The HR Systems and Insights Analyst is central to the collection, analysis, and reporting of people data that supports evidence-based decision-making across the University. Furthermore, you will extract, validate, and analyse data for statutory requirements including the HESA staff return, gender pay gap reporting, and equality data. Moreover, you will develop and maintain a suite of clear, accessible reports that support strategic planning and operational decision-making using tools like Excel, Power BI, and SAP BusinessObjects.

Key Responsibilities for HR Systems and Insights Analyst at University of Derby Derby

• Extract, validate, and analyse data required for the annual HESA staff return
• Lead analysis and reporting of gender pay gap, equal pay, and EDI datasets
• Develop and continuously improve weekly, monthly, and annual reports for strategic planning
• Present analysis in visually engaging formats to colleagues across the University
• Support system upgrades, legislative changes, and enhancement testing
• Drive system development ensuring improved data accuracy and process automation
• Manage high-volume employee processes using the HR and Payroll system
• Support Freedom of Information and Subject Access Request responses
• Investigate system issues and log faults with providers for timely resolution

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline or Higher Education environment
• Experience using advanced Excel features including PivotTables, formulas, and lookups
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to present data in clear, accessible formats
• Experience working with HR or business systems including system upgrades and troubleshooting
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with stakeholder influence ability
