About the Role

As Head of Inclusion at Al Shohub British School, you will encourage and promote inclusion across the school at all levels while serving as an exemplary classroom teacher. Furthermore, you will support and guide staff on SEN and inclusion practices to promote high standards of educational achievement. The successful candidate will line manage the inclusion team, maintain accurate records and IEPs, coordinate care plans, and provide training to colleagues and families both within and beyond the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Encourage and promote inclusion across the school at all levels
• Serve as an exemplary classroom teacher, supporting and guiding staff on SEN and inclusion
• Line manage staff employed to support children with special educational needs
• Maintain accurate records, IEPs, and coordinate care plans for students of determination
• Review whole-school assessment data and conduct assessments to identify priority areas for intervention
• Provide training to colleagues and families within and beyond the school
• Deliver full induction and training for the Inclusion team and Inclusion assistants
• Undertake co-teaching to support classroom and subject teachers with differentiated lessons
• Participate in admissions, evaluations, assessments, and transitions of students of determination

Requirements

• Qualified teacher status with SEN qualification at Master’s level or equivalent external certification
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of special educational needs
• Previous experience leading SEN or Learning Support in a primary or secondary school
• Experience maintaining accurate SEN registers and developing high-quality IEPs and intervention plans
• Capacity to identify a range of need types and developmental delays
• Proven ability to administer standardised assessments and utilise data to monitor student progress
