About the Role
The Head of Clinical Applications at King’s College Hospital London UAE is a senior technical leadership role accountable for the end-to-end ownership, governance, and strategic evolution of the Oracle Health Cerner Millennium clinical platform. Furthermore, this includes Rhapsody, Synapse RIS, FiveFaces Patient Portal, AI clinical initiatives, and all relevant clinical applications. Moreover, the role guides multi-disciplinary teams of analysts, engineers, and informatics specialists serving as the primary bridge between clinical requirements and digital transformation strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end ownership and strategic roadmap for the Oracle Health Cerner Millennium platform
- Architect and govern the HL7 and FHIR integration landscape connecting clinical systems
- Drive FHIR R4 adoption strategy and clinical API governance
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary clinical applications team
- Oversee governance of clinically-driven charging workflows within Cerner Millennium
- Guide evaluation and deployment of emerging clinical technologies including ambient AI
- Partner with clinical leadership to design analytics capabilities
- Own the strategic relationship with Oracle Health and third-party vendors
- Define and monitor KPIs for clinical application availability and performance
- Ensure compliance with DHA, NABIDH requirements, and data security standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience in clinical applications management or healthcare IT
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for clinical application teams
- Deep hands-on expertise across Cerner Millennium clinical and operational domains
- Proven experience with HL7 interface design, domain model governance, and integration
- Experience with enterprise integration engines such as Rhapsody or Mirth
- Strong understanding of FHIR R4, SMART on FHIR, and CDS Hooks frameworks
