The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) has an opening for devoted candidates for position of a Graphic Designer on Temporary basis. Established in 2010, GDMO is responsible for implementing strategic communication plans for the Government of Dubai as well as giving government related news in cooperation with local government agencies. The GDMO also manages relationships and coordination between the Government of Dubai & local / international media. GDMO’s activities are driven by aim of conveying an accurate picture of Dubai’s development process & communicating the city’s achievements and initiatives with clarity and objectivity.

Job Purpose of A Graphic Designer

  • Update and upload graphics content to applicable online services by creative selection and editing of photos and videos.
  • Verifies the quality of proof reading performed on provided texts, uploads texts along with graphics through content management systems.
  • Edits graphics for publication in traditional media channels under production related projects.
  • Monitors new media channels to assure proper representation of key stake holders image.
  • Report needs for changing functionalities of online services technical sections.

What You’ll Do As A Graphic Design

General Tasks

  • Participates in the development and implementation of Marketing Department plans and budgets.
  • Acts upon the Marketing Section mandate, to ensure effective leadership and facilitate work process in order to achieve high performance standards.

Graphics Design

  • Create graphical work & content to internal stake holders and events (DPC, Brand Dubai, SMA, GDMO).
  • Edits graphics content provided by the key stake holders.
  • Edits photos and videos as well as under production related projects.
  • Edits graphics layout of uploaded content to ensure proper representation.

Website Maintenance

  • Performs necessary reviews of website accessibility.
  • Reports urgent requests and issues pertaining to accessibility and correct display of website and online service content.
  • Provides information to technology sections regarding necessary updates to the functionalities of online services.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • Bachelors in Visual Arts or Graphic Design or Journalism or Information Technology or Media Studies or Computer Sciences.

Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience.

Nationality

  • Preferably UAE national.
