Job Purpose of An Environment Specialist

  • Developing the corporate environment strategy, integrating environment planning with the business.
  • Establishing environmental objectives and targets, communicating expectations, and measuring, monitoring, and reporting performance to key stakeholders that promote environment development in line with AD Ports Group policies/procedures, values, vision, and mission.
  • Supervise, co-ordinate and support in the implementation of environment strategy within AD Ports Clusters/Business Units Operation tonsure AD Ports Group Clusters / Business Units Operation fulfills its needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations.
  • The environment Specialist is accountable for establishing a structural process to maintain and monitor the effectiveness of AD Ports Group environment performance.

Duties of An Environment Specialist

  • Preparation, review, approval and control offal documents and data relating to the AD Ports Group Environment such as policies, standards, and programs while ensuring benchmarking with international best practices.
  • Coordinating with business Units and clusters to create and maintain the required documented environment records for their activities and functional areas.
  • Works collaboratively with other clusters/business units to support the development of schemes which support the overarching environment Strategy and initiatives.
  • Monitor and report AD Ports Group environment Performance Point.
  • Demonstrate compliance to the requirements of national and international regulations, standards and Code of practices.
  • Promote, Implement and communicate awareness of environmental strategies, policies, standards, regulations and programs effectively through collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze, assess existing programs and processes for potential inefficiencies, define and implement the appropriate environment solutions and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the preparation and development the content of AD Ports Annual Sustainability Report and co-ordinate with the AD Ports concerned teams on the report’s publication.
  • Undertaking stakeholder identification and materiality assessments for Sustainability Report.
  • Identify environment impact assessment and risks and appropriate mitigation measures and highlight any opportunities to increase the organization’s sustainability credentials.
  • Support in coordinating the AD Ports ESG and Sustainability Committee and the governmental authority’s submissions for similar forums and entities.
  • Prepare, track and reports against Key Performance Indicators (KPIS) and implement effective solutions for HSE management-related activities.
  • A range of additional ad hoc duties to support the wider team.
  • Participate in local and international environment, sustainability and CSR conferences.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in environment management, sustainability, HSE, Environmental studies engineering or similar environment qualification.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Industrial Zones, Manufacturing Industries,Utilities facilities and Ports

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Familiarity with International related standards are a minimum requirement.
  • Good working knowledge of appropriate regulations and by laws governing Ports, Harbors, shipping and recreational water activities.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPointand Outlook; MS Project & Visio.
  • Excellent command of English spoken and written; knowledge in Arabic is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Environment legislation and best practices.
  • HSE knowledge & skill.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
