About the Role

The Disabilities Support Supervisor at Al Ain University is responsible for providing comprehensive support services to students with disabilities at the Abu Dhabi campus, facilitating their academic integration and well-being. This role reports to the relevant college management and requires the development and implementation of clear action plans tailored to the needs of each student. Furthermore, the Supervisor will lead digital services related to disability support and drive awareness initiatives across the university community. Moreover, this position requires a UAE National with a background in Special Education and a genuine commitment to inclusive higher education.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop clear and individualized action plans to support students with disabilities throughout their academic journey.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of services required by students with disabilities during the academic year.
• Develop, implement, and manage policies, guidelines, and new processes to enhance disability support services.
• Lead digital services related to disability support and student integration across university platforms.
• Develop and implement events and activities to raise awareness of disability services and promote inclusion.
• Attend necessary training and development programs to remain current with best practices in disability support.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all students’ personal and disability-related information.
• Coordinate with faculty and staff to ensure reasonable accommodations are in place for students with disabilities.
• Liaise with external organizations and government bodies to access additional resources for students.
• Prepare regular reports on disability support activities, outcomes, and recommendations for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field.
• UAE National (Emirati) candidate is required for this position.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in disability support or a relevant field.
• Ability to interact professionally and empathetically with individuals with disabilities.
• Strong planning, organizing, and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills in English and Arabic, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in computer skills and relevant disability management software.
