Responsibilities of Specialist Cyber Security

Following are the general objectives of Cyber Security specialist:

General objectives:

• Managing projects for electronic and cyber security applications in the department according to the project management methodologies approved by the department.
• Submitting relevant periodic reports to the direct manager.
• Following up on conducting a vulnerability assessment and penetration test for all internal systems related to security auditing, testing, reviewing, submitting recommendations regarding dealing with them.
• Effective coordination with competent authorities Inside and outside the department to solve security problems received from the Dubai Electronic Security Center and other relevant parties, according to the approved directives.
• Studies and analysis of data and information contained within the systems and databases and preparation of technical reports specialized in the areas of development and modification required to be taken.
• Preparing draft policies and work procedures related to cybersecurity in the department and providing various relevant data, information and reference comparisons.
• Actively contributing to updating and reviewing draft policies in accordance with best practices.
• Ensuring the implementation Plans to reduce institutional risks associated with information technology applications and systems after reviewing experiences and best practices in this aspect.
• Managing the coordination & communication process with the Dubai Electronic Security Center related to the implementation of programs and technical systems related to electronic and cybersecurity, in accordance with the approved directions in this regard.

What you will do more?

• Studying, analysing, monitoring, cybersecurity incidents, reviewing reports, expressing opinion on them, & submitting them to the direct manager.
• Studying the approved mechanisms. to reduce the impact of security risks associated with information security related to the technical systems of the Operational Finance Department.
• Review and analyze the requirements of information security systems
• Prepare specialized technical reports on the mechanisms for their application and activation in the department through various available means.
• Implement training programs and workshops concerned with application information security, technical programs and systems in the department.
• Ensure awareness of users of the department’s technical programs.
• Train users to use programs in the required manner in accordance with the standards and requirements. Information Security.
• Review of developments in the field of work and in application information security, technical systems and cyber information security.
• Submitting proposals to develop work procedures.
• Conducting research and investigation operations through global databases specialized in cybersecurity.
• Doing the necessary work to protect the digital system.
• Conducting audits on suppliers of cybersecurity services in the Department of Finance, knowing their current status.
• Submitting the necessary reports to the direct manager to take the necessary measures.
• Any tasks or other duties related to the nature of the work as assigned.

Requirements of Specialist Cyber Security

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology / information security / cybersecurity or any related disciplines.
• 6 years of experience for bachelor’s holders or equivalent.
• 3 years experience for master’s / (1) for doctorate in similar fields of work.
• Professional certificates in the field of work related to cybersecurity and management of data bases and systems i.e Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Information Systems Auditor.
