American University in the Emirates
Nothing is Impossible
The College of Business Administration (COBA) at the American University in the Emirates (AUE) invites Ph.D. holders to apply for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Accounting for the Fall Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026 in Dubai. COBA is accredited by AACSB International, placing it among the world’s most distinguished business schools. Furthermore, this is an excellent opportunity for a passionate accounting scholar to join a highly reputable academic institution and contribute to developing the next generation of finance and accounting professionals in the UAE.
The faculty member will be required to teach in one or more of the following accounting specializations: Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, and Auditing. Since these are foundational and highly applied areas of accounting education, candidates who combine strong theoretical grounding with practical industry knowledge are particularly well-suited for this role. Additionally, faculty members are encouraged to develop innovative teaching methodologies that engage students with real-world accounting challenges, current regulatory frameworks, and emerging digital tools in the profession.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in accounting courses across a standard teaching load of 12 credit hours per academic semester. In addition, the faculty member will assess student work, maintain accurate grade records, and provide academic advising to students seeking guidance on their academic progress and career paths. Moreover, the role requires active participation in administrative and committee activities at the departmental and college levels, as well as engagement in professional and community service initiatives aligned with AUE’s institutional mission and values.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field from an accredited university in the United States or from a recognized institution accredited by an American accreditation body. A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting or a directly related discipline is also required. Additionally, a demonstrated record of scholarly research and publication in peer-reviewed accounting journals is essential. Prior teaching experience at the university level in core accounting subjects, particularly Intermediate Accounting, Auditing, or Accounting Information Systems, is highly desirable.
All full-time faculty at COBA are expected to maintain an active and productive research agenda consistent with AACSB accreditation standards. Consequently, candidates should demonstrate a clear scholarly focus within accounting and a commitment to publishing in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals. In addition, faculty are encouraged to pursue collaborative research projects with colleagues, pursue external funding opportunities, and present their work at national and international accounting and finance conferences. These activities are integral to the college’s mission of producing impactful, practice-relevant research.
AUE is a leading institution of higher education in Dubai, accredited by SACSCOC and fully licensed by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). COBA at AUE holds AACSB International accreditation, which is recognized globally as the hallmark of excellence in business education. Since its establishment, AUE has attracted students and faculty from over 100 countries, fostering a rich and diverse academic community. Additionally, AUE’s location in Dubai provides accounting faculty with direct access to one of the most vibrant and rapidly evolving financial and business markets in the world.
AUE offers a competitive salary package for all full-time faculty positions, commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and relevant experience. Therefore, this role presents an outstanding opportunity for a committed accounting scholar seeking to build a meaningful academic career at a world-class, AACSB-accredited business school in Dubai. Additional benefits include professional development funding, research support, and applicable university allowances for full-time employees.
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply through the AUE official careers portal and submit a complete application package as soon as possible. Please include an updated curriculum vitae, copies of academic credentials, a research statement highlighting your accounting expertise, and a list of recent scholarly publications.
