The American University in the Emirates (AUE) invites Ph.D. holder applicants for a full-time faculty position in Physiotherapy within the College of Health Sciences (CHS) for Academic Year 2025–2026, commencing August 2025 in Dubai. Specialization and Teaching Areas
The faculty member will be required to teach courses in one or more areas of Physiotherapy, including foundational and advanced clinical topics relevant to the physiotherapy curriculum at AUE. Since physiotherapy education requires both strong theoretical grounding and practical clinical competency, the ideal candidate will combine academic expertise with relevant professional clinical experience. Additionally, the ability to teach in a bilingual format in English and Arabic is a key requirement of this position, reflecting the diverse language needs of AUE’s student body and the broader UAE healthcare education environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful faculty member will be responsible for providing students with professional expertise in teaching and clinical practice, carrying a teaching load of 12 credit hours per academic semester. In addition, the faculty member will assess student work, maintain high standards of academic evaluation, and provide individualized academic advising to guide students through their physiotherapy program. Moreover, active participation in administrative and committee activities at the departmental and college levels is expected, along with engagement in professional service and community outreach initiatives that align with AUE’s institutional mission and values.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Physiotherapy or a closely related field from an accredited university or a recognized institution accredited by a relevant accreditation body. The Ph.D. must be completed and awarded by the time of recruitment from an internationally accredited university. Additionally, professional registration or licensure as a physiotherapist is highly desirable. Prior university-level teaching experience in physiotherapy, clinical placement coordination, or related health sciences education will be considered a significant advantage in the selection process.
Research and Scholarly Engagement
In addition to teaching responsibilities, all full-time faculty at AUE are encouraged to maintain an active research agenda and contribute to the scholarly life of the college. Consequently, candidates with a demonstrated record of publication in peer-reviewed physiotherapy and health sciences journals will be viewed favorably. Furthermore, faculty are encouraged to pursue applied clinical research, collaborate with healthcare institutions on practice-based studies, and contribute to the development of evidence-based physiotherapy curricula that reflect the latest advancements in the field. This engagement is central to AUE’s mission of delivering research-informed health sciences education.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this Physiotherapy faculty position is AED 12,000 to AED 22,000 per month.
