About the Role

Noya British School on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Assistant Principal to join its senior leadership team for the academic year 2026/2027. Additionally, this leadership position involves directing and quality assuring the activities of staff and students while ensuring a safe, orderly, and smooth functioning environment conducive to learning. Furthermore, the successful candidate will collaborate with the Principal and Vice Principal to supervise and evaluate teachers, support student achievement improvement efforts, and implement school development plans in line with ADEK regulations.

Key Responsibilities

As Assistant Principal, you will support and administer the annual school assessment and monitoring master schedule in conjunction with the school SLT and department leaders. Moreover, you will provide leadership in screening and interviewing applicants for both teaching and non-teaching positions. In addition, you will implement student achievement improvement efforts including directing the MAP and Exact Path student achievement plan and establishing processes related to assessment and reporting. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the SLT team regarding instructional methods, materials, and programmes. You will also assist in developing and implementing staff CPD plans that facilitate professional growth and enhance the quality of teaching.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a BSc degree with PGCE, with a Master’s degree being desirable. Additionally, a minimum of six years of experience including four consecutive years of teaching performance that exceeds standards is required. Moreover, candidates should have at least two years of experience in a middle leadership role with evidence of leading school initiatives that improved standards. Furthermore, secure knowledge of teaching and learning strategies, the ability to work effectively with data, and strong leadership skills are essential for this role.
