Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology Abu Dhabi – United Arab Emirates NEW

Abu Dhabi University seeks an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology. This full time faculty role starts on August 10, 2025. You will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Clinical Psychology and Mental Health program. Subjects include Abnormal Psychology, Clinical Assessment, Psychopathology, Counseling Techniques, and Psychotherapy. You will also conduct research and publish in high quality peer reviewed journals. In addition, you will advise and supervise students in practicum, internships, and research projects. If you hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from an internationally accredited university, this role suits you. A clinical psychologist license with DOH, DHA, HCPC UK, or a US practice license is required. You also need a record of successful teaching and peer reviewed publications.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in clinical psychology and mental health

• Use effective strategies to support student learning

• Prepare and deliver current, relevant course material in an understandable and motivating way

• Assess course objectives and instructional methods regularly

• Use formative and summative assessments to improve student attainment

• Show familiarity with digital platforms, group activities, and portfolios

• Use Blackboard and other learning management systems

• Prepare comprehensive course syllabi with approved student learning outcomes

• Work collaboratively with program faculty, affiliated sites, and government agencies

• Direct student research and conduct collaborative research with others

• Advise students academically and hold office hours

• Support students with program choices and career possibilities

• Refine course assignments and evaluation tools

• Participate in data analysis discussions for program improvement

• Facilitate curriculum and course development

• Align courses with program outcomes and accreditation standards

• Attend commencement, faculty meetings, department meetings, and committee meetings

• Participate in professional development programs and university events

Qualifications

• PhD in Clinical Psychology from an internationally accredited university

• Preferably from a top 200 university in QS World University Rankings 2022

• Expertise in clinical psychology, mental health, clinical assessments, diagnosis, and interventions

• Record of successful teaching at postgraduate or undergraduate level

• Clinical Psychologist license with DOH, DHA, HCPC UK, or US practice license, or eligibility to apply

• Proven record of teaching, program planning, and problem solving skills

• A record of peer reviewed publications

• Familiarity with the grant university system and its mission

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
